Breathe – A Soothing Mindfulness Practice Poem for Caregivers

Breathe

Take a moment.

Breathe deep.

Feel your belly expand deeply as your breath fills you with all that you need.

Do it again.

And again.

Until you feel your body quiet.

When the shock wears off, breathe.

When the fear comes, breathe.

When the despair comes, breathe.

When the anger comes, breathe.

Do it again.

And again.

Until you feel your body quiet.

Go about your day loving,

and helping those whose lives you touch.

True healing comes from love expressed in many ways.

Breathe.
