About

Bonnie McKeegan is a California Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW23344), author, blogger, consultant, End-of-Life Doula, and former private practice psychotherapist living in Grass Valley, CA with her husband, their extraordinary twin teenage boys, a foodie Mini Aussie Roxy the Rocket, and Big Kitty Boo Boo, a cross-eyed Siamese who yowls for attention in the middle of the night. Bonnie writes to help herself and others find their way.

Bonnie’s personal and social work experiences with trauma, death and loss, codependency, chronic illness, parenting twins, and other life circumstances have provided her with ample opportunities for spiritual, emotional, and mental health growth.

As a social worker, eight years in private practice was the best. job. ever. It wasn’t really a “job,” after all; it was an exciting entrepreneurial adventure walking beside extraordinary human beings.

Bonnie is exploring creative writing for personal and professional growth.  This blog is a personal blog written from the heart of life experiences.

  1. It’s wonderful to get to know more about you, I am inspired & in awe if I’m honest! I have that melancholy nature, also, but sadly haven’t channeled it well at all, whereas you have built and achieved a heck of a lot. I wish I could use my Psychology degree to go into psychotherapy (or similar) but sadly don’t think I could manage or afford further studies. I think I’d also go for a chef if I could hire one, maybe he/she would teach me about cooking that transcends the oven and a 20 minute patience limit that I have! 🙂

    1. Thank you for visiting! Laughing about the chef because I am past even wanting to be taught… I just want someone else to do it 😉 Would rather be doing so many other things! LOL. Seems to me you are using your psychology knowledge in your writing… it was a long road to get here, yes, still traveling, and this week I started writing about that road (or what I call My Flight to Private Practice). Maybe it’ll manifest into my first memoir 🙂 Thank you and I look forward to more of your writing!

  2. Wow!! Terrific about page, Bonnie!! 😀 I love how you write you were compelled to write your current WIP and congratulations on you 20,000 – no mean feat!! 😀 Your sense of energy and passion for writing and life emanates through this post…your wisdom and sense of calm is equally evident. It’s a real joy meeting you here. ❤️ BTW I’ve watched so many of the series you mention…I can’t wait for the new The Crown and new series of Orange is the New Black must surely soon be out. I have not tried Nurse Jackie…might have to give that a go!

    1. Thank you so much Annika! I am so glad to meet you here as well! I am so moved by your words of encouragement and compliments. Your comments made my day, all day, made my week, in fact! Imagine my impatience at being away from my computer all day but wanting to say thank you the moment I sat down 🙂

ah, the Crown! Yes, that was another one I loved! Alternating between Jackie and Blacklist this week. Yep, Blacklist, a ridiculous but addictive (not for everyone!) dark show ;-). Anxiously awaking Orange too!
Thank you again Annika, and I look forward to following your musings as well. Namaste
