“Ah, summer, what power you have to make us suffer and like it.” ~Russell Baker, American Journalist

I have no idea what prompted Russell Baker to say what he said, but I feel quite the same about summer.
While I dread the heat that provokes hot flashes and migraines, the mosquitoes and rattlesnakes, I also love the relaxed state of not worrying about getting kids to and from school and all that business.
While I dread summer’s threat of wildfire, I love tending the gardens, camping trips, long evenings, and possibilities of adventure.
We are headed up to the mountains for a short camping trip next week – weather expected to be in the 30s overnight! I’ll take it joyfully as we join around the campfire with friends.
And so, without further ado, I’d like to wish you a fabulous summer filled with all that you love about the season and nothing of the dreaded.
I’ll be taking a break from blogging over the busy summer. I hope to focus more time on:
- writing projects that I have not been able to get to recently
- post a few book reviews on Goodreads
- post gardening photos on Instagram
I plan to return to this space with refreshed inspiration. I’m also looking forward to catching up on the wonderful inspiring blogs I love to follow!
Thank you for being a part of my world. Happy Summer!
