Quotes of Wisdom 27 – A Friend’s Presence During Grief

“The friend who can be silent with us in a moment of despair or confusion, who can stay with us in an hour of grief and bereavement, who can tolerate not knowing… not healing, not curing… that is a friend who cares.”

I am feeling enormous gratitude for people in my life who are able to sit with me in silence. It is not easy.  Thank you.

Silence in the Presence of Grief is Golden.

Silence allows space for grieving.

Silence allows space for healing.

Cancer has a huge ugly presence in my life. Many family members, friends, and acquaintances have lost the battle, or fought and count themselves survivors, for now.

Cancer’s presence is LOUD and my mind roars at the parasite’s shadow, “Who’s next?!”

My mother’s breast cancer the most recent savage expression of the shadow.  She did it all. Fought and counted herself survivor, then fought and lost the battle.

My need for silence is immense, as big as the sky that holds the Milky Way.

  1. “Silence allows space for grieving. Silence allows space for healing.” ~ Beautiful words. Lately there’s people I know who’ve had to endure the loss of people in their lives, so I think I’m the one called to offer this kind of silence. Thank you for sharing.

  2. In your silence may you find the presence of your loved one that is beyond the Milky Way, encompasses the Universe which still lives in your Heart.
