Nature of the Beast

This story was inspired by another dream.  I awoke with that incessant need to write it out.  As I wrote the descriptive words I had no idea what the story was about.  Over the course of another day or two, the story came alive! As I struggled to describe the story briefly I searched the internet for answers. It turned out to be an allegory.  

According Google Dictionary:  al·le·go·ry 

ˈaləˌɡôrē/          noun

1. a story, poem, or picture that can be interpreted to reveal a hidden meaning, typically a moral or political one.
2.       a symbol

I only remember allegory being a torturous subject in high school English Lit.  My teenager brain just could not “see” what was there without the teacher pointing it out.  I am still challenged by this type of story!
